Collaboration will extend Preclinical Cancer Studies in Glioma and Diffuse
Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG)
San Diego, CA — July 26, 2026 — Global Cancer Technology (GCT), a preclinical-stage
biopharmaceutical company developing novel oncology therapeutics, announced today a collaboration
with Ekokobe Fonkem, D.O., Professor of Neurology and Translational Neuroscience at the
University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix and Vice Chair of Neurology at Banner MD
Anderson Cancer Center at Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix (BUMCP).
Dr. Fonkem and his team will continue to examine the effects of GCT-007 in preclinical models of adult glioma
and the childhood brain cancers Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) and Diffuse Midline Glioma
(DMG). Dr. Fonkem will also be taking the lead as Principal Investigator on a new application to
NIH under the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology
Transfer (STTR) programs. These applications will be a close collaboration between the
University of Arizona College of Medicine, Phoenix campus, and Global Cancer Technology.
